My Cyber Funeral

Death isn’t something we usually talk about openly. In a lot of cultures — like Chinese culture — it’s seen as bad luck to even bring it up. If you do, people might criticize you or think you’re being too negative. Because of this, there’s very little public conversation or education around death, which just makes it feel even more distant and scary.

I want to demonstrate through designing my own tombstone that death is not a topic to be avoided. It is a natural part of life, not something terrifying or unlucky. I hope to help people overcome their fear of death and view it with a sense of acceptance and understanding. I aim to reveal how death as part of human existence has been reinterpreted in different times and cultures. Humans pursues immortality is not because of they are afraid of death, it is because the existence of death allows memories to be passed on from generation to generation, so that human beings continue to grow and develop.
